Those rigs and no Lids for their heads. Brave? Crazy? Awesome!!
They were pretty hardcore back then, all riding ridged single speeds =P
i live in marin, not much places to ride anymore
Downhill IS the purest form of mountain biking. Period.
no need for exclusivity. it’s an aspect. a cool one. but plenty of folks who MTB don’t do DH.
first dh bikers
Shame what’s happened to the MTB scene in Marin.
does anyone know where i can get a torrent or a download of this whole film?? i super wanna watch it!
Greencross. Bill would probably appreciate that you buy the film, not download it. This is made on his own dime. He’s not getting rich on this film.
I made a short tribute film to the late John Finley Scott for his induction into the MTB Hall of Fame at InterBike. I will post it here shortly.
Funniest vid I have EVER seen!!!
You can try CC Cleaner. It will clean IE and Firefox with each use. It has an ok registry cleaner too.
Don’t take this wrong but damn! He was an ugly dude! lol But I still like his music.
Gurlz Ride and the BMA are helping keep all you single track sistas on maintained trails Jenifer Kwasniewski, the itty bitty bike betty of the Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance and co-founder of the weekly Gurlz Rides out of Boulder. OD: How long have you been riding bikes? Jen: I have been riding mountain bikes since 1999. When I started riding in Ohio, I was clueless and slow, but a group of advanced riders, including three awesome female riders, took me under their wing. At first, I couldn’t keep up with them at all, but they patiently waited on me at every trail intersection. As the riding season progressed, I was able to actually ’see’ some of the riders ahead of me and by the fall, I was not the last person on our rides. I still fell off my bike every ride though; it took about a year before I was able to ride without crashing! I later raced expert level with those women as Team Bad Betty, hence the nickname. Learning to ride with strong female role models encouraged me to believe…
The very cool WEND magazine just ran a nice review of Klunkerz. "…fast paced, energetic flow that meanders beautifully to the very end."

Interesting
Hey All,
That was very cool of the folks at WEND to give such a nice review. I just found out about it. Here’s the other trailer for the film, and a few pieces of the John Finley Scott tribute film I did for the MTB Hall of Fame. He was the 72 year old professor who helped get the first bike lanes painted on roads here in the U.S. He was also the also the first investor in the first mountain bike company, and he built a multi-gear, fat tire bike in ‘53. He was murdered shortly after I interviewed him for KLUNKERZ. Please stop by my website and say hello.
Ride on,

Only love can hold all the history and cradle the Mystery, this love wild & bright, this love through which we reunite.
Since this one is very public and developed, yes, I will be passing up on that. I do however want to find a “real” spring. a few of my friends know where they are.

There are no disadvantages unless you are a highly competative racer who needs ever advantage to win.
Now if you are a normal recreational road biker like me who puts in say 150-200 miles a week the advantages of mountain bike shoes/cleats over road bike only are the differance between walking or slipping, wearing out your cleats or having them recessed and off the concrete.
I wear crank bros. frogs and Sidi mountain bike shoes. I find I seldom have to replace the cleats because they are up off the concrete when I walk. Also, I can walk around during the food stops, I can walk into the small town grocery stores without busting my Also, when some are fumbleing to lock in during our urban rides after a stop light I am already in and cranking. Also, if I have to I can pull out of them in a hurry, not good for the cleat but I can replace those easier then a busted hip, tail bone or cassett when I fall.
Most all I know wear the mountain bike shoes – just make sure you get a good brand. The Sidi's I wear are excellent.
amores vou andar de bike bjs:* bjs:* até depois (L

“Modern mountain biking was born on the trails of Mount Tamalpais in Marin County in the 1970s. We talk to some of the pioneers of the sport who are featured in a new documentary, “Klunkerz.”"
Entry level is 900 to $1500 at non sale prices.
At this level you can get something in aluminum with a carbon fork and at least a Shimano Tiagra level drive train, maybe 105, which is the next level up. (Besides Shimano, SRAM and Campy also make respectable drivetrains) Stay away from low end Sora. Spend a little more to get carbon rear seatstays that absorb road buzz, which can be annoying and fatiguing. Trek, Specialized and Giant are the biggest names. Felt, Blue, Scott, and Lapierre are not as common, so you feel less like you are owning a Camry.
I assume you are not really racing, just want a fast road bike. And I don't know what you mean by "other people"
You will sell yourself short if you don't also test-ride the steel bikes from Jamis, Bianchi, Gunnar and Soma. Steel has much better vibration absorbtion than aluminum frames at the same price level, maybe 1/2 lb heavier.
However if you know snooty "other people", you'll also need to look at full carbon frames which is all the rage, (min. $2200) BUT put a ding or crash these once and that may be all she wrote. Steel is at least repairable usually.
Buy a hard tail if you are gonna do a lot of climbing unless you've got a good budget for an adjustable full sus. Tires should be knobby and soft for better traction. try browsing through mtbr.com or bikeradar.com

Giant Ricon, good all round bike, they have an urban model which comes with an upgraded seat and good tires for all round.
